Short Bio: M. Yaşar Özden has been conducting teacher training programs for using technology in classroom environments since the late 1980s, both as a manager and trainer. After the first internet connection was established in Turkey at Middle East Technical University in 1993, he made Radio ODTÜ one of the top 100 radio stations broadcasting in the world. In 1998, he made the first TV broadcasts over the internet in Turkey. He also took part in the development and implementation of the first Internet-based education (IDE_AS) program in Turkey in 1998.
He served as a project management member in the “National Education Development Project” (NEDP) carried out between 1996-1998. Within the scope of this project, he was the founding head of the Computer and Instructional Technologies Education (CEIT) department established at Middle East Technical University. He also contributed to the preparation of the curricula of these departments and pioneered the design, development and implementation of a new blended learning environment for the training of potential instructors of CEIT departments. In addition, Dr. Özden prepared and managed an e-learning portal project with the contributions of the General Directorate of Security between 2005-2007.
Dr. Özden’s main areas of interest are; Generative Artificial Intelligence (GPT) applications in the fields of Technology-Aided Education, Teacher Education, Distance Education, Internet Multimedia Applications, Web Design and Web Programming.
Dr. Özden still gives lectures and continues to conduct research on these subjects. Dr. Özden has published numerous articles in national and international indexed journals and these publications have been cited numerously.
In short, Dr. Özden has tried to combine his biology background with the use of technology in learning areas in his academic life and as a result, he has specialized in adapting learning programs to the online field.
